Karadi offers of courses of cultural education opportunities to build the community's knowledge of Tasmanian Aboriginal culture.
Introduction to Aboriginal Culture -
Full day course
This course is designed to give an immersive in depth understanding of Tasmanian Aboriginal culture and history.
You will:
- Gain an understanding of the historical, cultural and social structures of Aboriginal people in Lutruwita.
- Understand the impacts that colonisation has had on Aboriginal people.
- Learn about the survival of the thriving Aboriginal community today.
- Learn about the survival of certain cultural practices and lore.
Audience: This course is suitable for high school and college students, workplaces, and community organisations.
Run time: This is a full-day course from 9.30am to 3.00pm.
Pricing: $175 per person, minimum of 10 people.

Cultural Safety/Cultural Education session -
Half day Course
This half-day course is designed for individuals who have completed the full-day course or have previously received cultural awareness training, either with us or another provider.
This shorter form session focuses on:
- Local and broader Aboriginal History, cultural awareness, cultural safety (workplace or personal).
- Supporting aboriginal people in the workplace.
- Do’s and don'ts when addressing Aboriginal issues or persons.
- PowerPoint presentations and Q&A sessions.
Audience: This course is suitable for high school and college students, workplaces, and community organisations.
Run time: This is a half-day course from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm.
Pricing: $85 per person, minimum of five people.

On Country walks and talks -
Walk with us (palawa kani name tbd)
This package is focused on experiencing a cultural walk on Country in the Greater Hobart area.
Learn about:
- Cultural landscapes.
- Traditional living on Country before and after colonisation.
- Cultural land management.
- Bush foods.
- Connections between sea, sky and land.
- Traditional place names and languages.
Areas where walks/talks take place:
- Bedlams walls – Geilston Bay.
- Kunanyi – Mountain.
- Montrose Bay Foreshore.
- Piyura kitina – Aboriginal Land – Risdon Vale.
- Putalina – Aboriginal Land – Oyster Cove.
Audience: These excursions are suitable for high school and college students, workplaces, and community organisations. Some locations may have restricted accessibility.
Run time: Approximately two hours
Pricing: $60 per person
Cultural Education Talks -
Junior Schools and Childcare
This Package is focused on providing age-appropriate information about Tasmanian Aboriginal culture to young children from daycare to year six.
Talks can be focused on the school's particular interests and children’s age:
- Local Aboriginal History and Culture.
- Hands-on cultural arts and crafts and cultural tools presentations.
- Cultural walk and talk on country.
- Talks about bush foods and traditional foods.
- Learn about the survival of certain cultural practices.
- Learn about and hear cultural instruments and dance.
Audience: These talks are suitable for younger children from daycare to year six.
Run time: 1 Hour
Pricing: $160 per hour
Min Children: 10
Max Children: 25
Conditions: Any requests for longer sessions or different class sizes must be discussed and agreed upon before making the booking.

Courses
- Due to circumstances beyond Karadi’s control, speakers, venue and timings may vary. Karadi reserves the right to cancel, postpone or reschedule training programs due to unforeseen circumstances. Fees, dates and venues may also vary at the Karadi’s discretion.
- All copyright of any training manuals or other documentation provided by Kaadi remains the sole property of Karadi. The documents are not to be reproduced or made directly or indirectly available to any person without the Karadi’s written consent.
- Karadi will invoice all training bookings within seven days after completion of the course.
- The invoice is sent through to the representative who organised the training on the course booking form.
- Payment is to be made inline with invoice payment terms.
- Cancellation/reschedule/non-attendance are accepted in writing by email. Upon the notification by the client, Karadi will notify of any charge to be applied according to the following schedule:
- More than three business days – no charge
- Three business days or less – 25%
- All non or part attendance – 100%

Upon receiving a request to reschedule, Karadi will notify the client of any cancellation charge to be applied before new training booking charges are applied.
